Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
1. Marketplace platform disclaimer
KidsRoster is a marketplace that connects families with independent tutors, coaches, and enrichment experts (“Experts”). KidsRoster is not the provider of the tutoring, coaching, or enrichment services listed on the platform. Experts are independent third parties, not employees or agents of KidsRoster. Any agreement for services is between the family and the Expert.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. Family responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your family’s needs and children.
- Communicate respectfully with Experts through the platform.
- Supervise sessions as appropriate and use your independent judgment about whether an Expert is a good fit for your child.
- Pay for services you book in accordance with the posted terms.
4. Expert responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your identity, qualifications, and services.
- Comply with all applicable laws, including licensing, tax, and child-safety laws.
- Complete KidsRoster’s onboarding, identity, and background-screening requirements before working with families.
- Deliver services professionally and honor scheduled bookings.
5. Bookings
Bookings are made through the platform and are subject to the schedule, rate, and terms set by each Expert. Once a booking is confirmed, both parties are expected to honor it. Changes should be made through KidsRoster so that we can keep an accurate record.
6. Payments and service fees
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe). By booking a service you authorize KidsRoster and its payment processor to charge the payment method on file for the amount owed. KidsRoster may collect a marketplace service fee, disclosed at the time of booking. Experts are paid the amount charged to the family less applicable service fees and taxes.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Each Expert may set specific cancellation terms, which are shown at the time of booking. In general, cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are eligible for a full refund; later cancellations may not be refundable at the Expert’s discretion. Refunds for services that were not delivered as described may be requested by emailing support@kidsroster.com and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
8. Match Promise
KidsRoster wants every family to feel confident about their first session. If your first session with a matched Expert is not a good fit, contact us within 48 hours and we will help you find a different Expert or credit the amount toward another booking on the platform. Details and eligibility are described in the Match Promise information on our site and may be updated from time to time.
9. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Circumvent the platform to avoid service fees;
- Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or intentions;
- Harass, threaten, or endanger any user;
- Use the platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose;
- Interfere with the security or normal operation of the platform.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KidsRoster LLC and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the platform or the services provided by Experts. KidsRoster does not guarantee any specific outcome from the services offered by Experts. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to KidsRoster in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Intellectual property
The KidsRoster name, logo, website, software, and content are owned by KidsRoster LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the platform without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of the content you submit, and grant KidsRoster a limited license to host, display, and use it to operate the marketplace.
12. Account termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting support@kidsroster.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that pose a safety risk to families or Experts, or where required by law. Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination, including sections on payments owed, limitation of liability, intellectual property, and governing law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in New York will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms, except where prohibited by applicable law.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
